“Twos” win club clash LADDERS

Warragul Bowling Club had an interestin­g day in round 11 of WGBD pennant on Saturday, with one team winning and three losing.

The top team played Warragul’s second team and were comfortabl­y beaten by eight shots. The “twos” led all day and belied their bottom of the ladder position.

This result now makes it tough for the top team to make finals.

Division three had a disastrous 53-shot loss against Trafalgar, while division five lost to Morwell Club.

Division two: Warragul (1) lost to Warragul (2) 94/102.

David Alderman, John Vickerman, Janette Gallasch and Graeme Davis lost to Matt Smith, Brian Barby, David Ferguson and David Smith 19/33. Luke Ward, Des Stephens, Peter Gallasch and Clive Padgham defeated Bryce McKillop, Ken Brown, Shirley Melsen and Bob Currie 24/23. Ian Belling, Necip Akarsu, Jim Power and Ken Scammell lost to Ron Collins, Darren McDonald, Roy Hammond and Peter Wood 15/28. Ken Landman, Pat Hammond, Paul Simmons and Bill Clappers defeated Kerrie Currie, Alan McDonnell, Matt Draisma and Jim Moyle 36/18.

Division three: Warragul (3) lost Trafalgar (2) 67/120.

Ted Holland, May Baldwin, Marg Keeffe and David Piggin lost to Bruce Giles’ team 13/27. John Bell, Bill Dye, Lester Mason and Eric Porter lost to Tony Dawson’s team 16/37. Gabrielle Draisma, Chris Wilkins, Graham Cobban and Mike Cousens lost to Peter Watson’s team 13/32. Freda Lay, Bernie McIntosh, Brian Kennedy and Keith Wilkins defeated Wayne Hurst’s team 25/24.

Division five: Warragul (4) lost to Morwell Club (2) 58/82. to

Marj Evison, Alison Matthews, Gary Thomas and Barry Downer lost to A. Ralls’ team 23/25. Michael Royce, Pat McGowan, Len Duncan and Alan Potter lost to H. Wright’s team 24/32. Wilf Boscombe, Mary Cobban, Barbara Maloni and Bill Clark lost to G. Unwin’s team 11/25.

In round 12 of WGBD pennant on Saturday, Warragul one is home to Traralgon, Warragul two is away to Longwarry, Warragul three is home to Moe and Warragul four is away to Morwell.
