Longwarry’s division two team travelled to Traralgon and handled the conditions better to record a 39-shot win.

Playing Traralgon (3) in the first game back after the Christmas break, it was a close contest early.

Division six had an unfortunat­e forfeit against and hope to be back on the green again next week.

Division two: Longwarry 18/114 defeated Traralgon (3) 2/75.

Elio Meggetto, Judy Eastwell, Kenneth Towt and Barry White (skip) lost to B. Holaj’s team 21/29.

Traralgon started well, picking up a six on end three to go into the break eight shots up. The remainder of the game was even but Longwarry could not make inroads to Traralgon’s lead, losing by eight shots.

Brian Hennessy, Grant Pask, Hank Metselaar and Russell White (skip) defeated T. James’ team 24/16.

In a tight game, scores were level at 16-all on end 22. Longwarry picked up eight shots on the last three ends to win by that margin.

Lloyd Maisey, Glenn Pask, Ian Peterson and Slim Eastwell (skip) defeated M. Cumming’s team 33/20.

Longwarry got off to a good start and by end eight were leading 14/2. Traralgon won the next five ends to trail by only one shot by end 15. Playing good team bowls, Longwarry finished the game off strong including picking up a seven on end 23 - to record a 13-shot win.

Simon Counsel, Mark Serong, John McCarthy and Ken White (skip) defeated I. Wills’ team 36/10.

After an even start to the game, Longwarry totally dominated after the break. They only allowed Traralgon to win one end to run out convincing 26-shot winners. They were the best performing rink of the day.
