Peter is champion

Peter Throup has taken out the Neerim District Bowling Club’s men’s singles championship in sunny but blustery conditions on Sunday.

Peter played Jim Fallon in the championship final.

It was Jim who settled quickly. Bowling well, he led 10/1 by the sixth end.

Peter started to find his range and picked up a four on the ninth on his way to levelling the scores at 13-all on the 15th end.

On the 19th end, Peter picked up a four to jump clear and led 23/15 after 21 ends.

Jim picked up three on the next end but Peter then closed out the game with a two on the 23rd end to win 25/18 shots and take out the title.
