Local produce showcased
Baw Baw Shire will showcase as an ultimate foodie destination on television screens nationwide in an upcoming episode of Channel 10’s Good Chef/Bad Chef.
Due to air from late next month, the episode features host Rosie Mansfield creating a selection of dishes using some of our region’s best produce.
Dairy, tomatoes and honey were sourced from local businesses.
Filming took place over two days last November at the Noojee Trestle Bridge, Vue at Jindivick and the Harvest Fest event held at Lardner Park.
The opportunity had been made available through Council’s Economic Development Strategy in partnership with Hsquared, the Good Chef/Bad Chef team and local producers and businesses.
Good Chef Bad Chef executive producer Leigh Redlich said his entire team were blown away by the sheer beauty of the location and rich fresh produce available.
“Our hosts loved cooking on location and felt very welcomed by the incredibly friendly and supportive local community,” he said.
“Being so close to Melbourne, Baw Baw Shire proved to be quite a surprise and will no doubt feature as a highlight of the series which is set to air from late February.”
Baw Baw Shire mayor Mikaela Power said Council were thrilled to have had the opportunity to showcase some of Baw Baw’s finest local producers with Rosie Mansfield and the Good Chef/Bad Chef team.
“We eagerly await the episode to air in homes across Australia shining a light on Baw Baw as an outstanding destination to visit, explore and dine,” she said.
