Fun for all at Neerim District Show

-

The Neerim District Show is set to carry on its tradition of providing enjoyment to the local community and visitors over more than 100 years when its 102nd iteration takes place on Australia Day.

Long regarded as a successful agricultural and horticultural show, the show is a major festival for the Neerim District and provides many activities for the local community and its visitors to the district to enjoy.

Being family and children focused, the Show provides a great opportunity for them to demonstrate their skills in a friendly environment. Encouragement is given for the community to display their skills, with this year’s event to include a mini Olympics event for young and old.

A new addition to the program, the mini Olympic event will include various activities for the children while adults will be able to test their arm in a brick throw competition.

A bumper program for this year’s event should cater for all, with Saturday’s festivities including the addition of the monster circus, while favorites from previous years including animal nursery, pony rides, various amusement rides, lawn mower races, dog high jump, working dog and shearing demonstrations and more will make a return. Show bags will be available to add to the fun for the children.

The show will again include displays from local clubs and groups including a massive steam engine display, along with vintage trucks and cars.

The hobbies and motor focussed show will also include hot saws demonstrations and trade spaces.

With take away and sit-down meals available, along with ice cream for the children, the event will be well-catered for.

The bumper program will conclude with the return of the Neerim Rodeo in the evening.
