Magnificent line-up of bulls and heifers ready for purchase at Mt Ararat stud on Monday, January 28 from 8am

On the back of a very successful Beef Week last year, Mt Ararat Simmental Stud Principal, John Leek is geared up for the 2019 event which will feature females and bulls for sale at his property at Nar Nar Goon.

John has been farming cattle his whole life, but it has only been in the last nine years that he has become serious about pure bred Simmentals.

“The genetics for sale at Mt Ararat Simmentals are as good as any in Australia. Most of them with the famous Woonallee genetics. With the prices of females commercially averaging around the $2,000 mark, now is the time to choose carefully which bull you use next.

“With Sim Angus and Sim Herefords being all the rage at saleyards, a Simmental bull could suit your commercial herd and make all the difference with calving ease, temperament and huge growth after birth.”

John will have Mt Ararat Kilimanjaro for sale at Beef Week. The bull is 4.5 years old.

“He is one of the most impressive Simmental bulls I have ever seen and his calves will also be on display,” said John. “All our Simmental cattle will be on display with the opportunity to purchase the best genetics possible. We have an amazing line-up of Simmental bulls, cows and heifers all registered. A light lunch and refreshments are available. We will have a marquee and seating for people who come to enjoy the day.” John added.
