Finals berths on line in T20s

-

The final round of Warragul District Cricket Association’s T20 competition will be played tonight after last week’s matches were rescheduled due to forecast extreme heat.

Spots in Sunday’s final will be on the line in A grade, with each team entering the final round with one win from two games in an even competition. Hallora will host Buln Buln, while Western Park will take on Neerim District with the victorious sides from tonight’s matches to win through.

Ellinbank enter the final round all-but assured of a spot in the B grade decider. Their opponent Drouin may need to win to join them in the final, with Jindivick level on points to take on a winless Yarragon.

Western Park and Garfield-Tynong will play off in C grade regardless of results tonight. The undefeated Warriors will take on a winless Iona, while the Titans will play Bunyip who have one win.

Third-placed Longwarry will be unable to challenge with a final round bye.

Undefeated to date, Jindivick will have a test on their hands with second-placed Warragul needing to defeat the Jumping Jacks to join them in the final.

Third-placed Buln Buln is hot on the heels of Jindivick, with the Lyrebirds to enter favourites against the winless Western Park.

Drouin are out of contention with a final round bye.

The T20 finals will be played at Bunyip on Sunday.
