Disappointed
As a Noojee resident I read with interest the state-owned VicForests’ letter (Gaz 19/2) regarding the independent scientific opinion that there’ll be an increased bushfire risk if plans to clearfell the bush next to the town proceed.
Some months ago I wrote to the government expressing my concerns about the increased risk of bushfire.
The response I received was disappointing to say the least. The government Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) indicated that Noojee was already at high risk of bushfire (something I already appreciated) and, by implication, it is therefore okay to add yet another risk factor by clearfelling next to it.
Huge bouquets to the wonderful manager and staff at McDonald’s where my elderly parents go for breakfast every Thursday morning.
They are incredibly warm and friendly and make my parents feel really special.
It makes their day and fills them with such joy to be treated with such kindness. How nice to have such amazing genuine service in Warragul.
Bouquets to the V/Line customer service officer on duty at Warragul station last Wednesday morning. His kind assistance when I temporarily lost my Myki card enabled me to catch the train and keep an important appointment in Clayton. I can't thank him enough.
Pile of bricks to Baw Baw Shire for fining my husband $161 while he was waiting outside Buln Buln Primary School to collect grandchildren. There is nothing to say “no standing” and a warning would have been appreciated. There are about 200 children at the school and only 20 carparks.
Show a bit of consideration to people who go out of their way to help families and erect signs where appropriate.
