Foodies feast in Jindi

Foodies keen to extend their Melbourne Food and Wine Festival (MFWF) experience can join in a host of culinary tours and activities taking place across Baw Baw Shire as part of The Village Feast.

As Jindivick transforms into The Village Feast on Saturday March 16, multiple pop-up stalls will line the streets offering food, drink and produce for purchase, complement­ed by entertainm­ent including a town fair for kids, competitio­ns and live music.

The next day, locals and visitors staying nearby can discover more of Baw Baw Shire’s culinary delights with additional experience­s and activities on offer.

Activities on offer include experienci­ng the Alpine Trout Farm near Noojee, a farm tour at Purely Goats Milk at Nilma and a honey hive skills beekeeping experience, along with tours of Butterfly Factory Dairy in Warragul, Tarago River Cheese on Main Neerim Rd, Neerim South and Oz Fresh Herbs in Warragul.

Other experience­s include learning the secrets of sourdough with Microbaker­y Real Bread by George, learning the art of salami making with String and Salt, learning the secrets of fly fishing with Fly Addiction Fishing and wine tasting with Patrick Sullivan Wines and William Downie Wines.

Baw Baw Shire mayor Mikaela Power said Council were excited to welcome the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and the Village Feast to shine a light on local food, wine and produce.

“We highly encourage local residents and visitors to get out and explore the boutique businesses and producers on offer on Sunday, March 17,” she said.

“We promise you won’t be disappoint­ed by the sheer breadth of experience, skill and amazing produce available right here in beautiful Baw Baw.”

Bookings for each experience can be made directly through the local operator, or at The Village Feast informatio­n stand in Jindivick on Saturday, March 16.
