Find a pathway

-

Community feedback is being sought to assist Baw Baw Shire to develop a paths and trails strategy.

Paths and trails around the shire provide access to community facilities, services, public transport and open space.

To assist councillors to plan where paths and trails should be built, councillors want to adopt a more proactive and strategic approach to the construction of pathways within the Shire.

Building on guidelines set out by the state government for the development of principal pedestrian networks within Victoria, council officers have identified key primary and secondary pathways within the majority of townships.

Council will prioritise the pathways that are part of these key networks for construction in future programs, ensuring the community is provided with infrastructure that provides the highest level of connectivity benefit for each community

Council is encouraging community members to review the maps of the proposed strategic pathway network and provide feedback.

The development of a paths and trails strategy is an initiative for the 2018-2019 financial year within the Council Plan 20172021.

It is expected the strategy will be completed by June.

The strategy will help council to determine investment priorities for paths.

Maps of the proposed strategic pathway network are available on Baw Baw Shire’s website. Consultation is open until February 22.
