Three day program planned for show

A three day show program for this weekend’s Warragul Show will feature a show eve carnival on Friday night, traditiona­l show activities on Saturday, a carnival on Saturday night and a horse program on Sunday.

Organisers have decided to expand the show program to give show patrons the choice of two carnival nights with all their favourite carnival rides, entertainm­ent, activities, show bags and food options.

The Warragul Show will be a showcase of the district’s agricultur­al strengths while also providing carnival entertainm­ent for families.

Organisers are hoping for fine weather and well-behaved crowds to make this year another successful local event.

There will be entertainm­ent for everyone on Saturday with KC’s School of Dance performing and the Morwell Caledonian Pipe Band. The activities on offer include: Camel rides between noon and 2pm and 3pm and 6pm near the main gate.

A sheep shearer will show off their skills in the cattle shed from 10am to 4pm.

Canine Freestyle, dog agility demonstrat­ions – Saturday 12.30pm, 2pm, 3.30pm and 5pm.

Magician – four magic shows throughout the day including balloon animals and close up magic roving. Jamieson Road Busking. Whip cracking demonstrat­ions. Saturday’s attraction­s also will include an extensive line-up that reflects the agricultur­al diversity of West Gippsland.

Patrons will be able to wander around the showground­s and have plenty to look at in every corner from the vintage cars and engines display by Baw Baw Engines, to a trades’ display, cattle judging and a visit to the exhibition hall - as well as lots of other judging.

As well as horses and cattle, there will be other animals on show including dairy goats, poultry, rabbits and budgerigar­s.

Trades sites, food vans and showbag vendors will complete the show day atmosphere.

The bar and bistro at Danny’s the Venue also will be open throughout Friday night and Saturday. An ATM will be available on site throughout the show.
