45 33 27 3 33 33 30 18 33 30 24 Garfield-Tynong 112 def by Western Park 129 Western Park has kept their finals hopes alive, with a stunning bowling effort strangling Garfield-Tynong on the weekend.

Defending 129 and with only two wickets in the bank, Josh Sauze (5-24) caused carnage in the Titans middle-order as only former Neerim coach Anthony Hart (30) was able to stem the bleeding.

Wickets fell regularly as the Titans couldn’t muster up a defence, as Michael Rabl (2-18) cleaned up the tail and Adrian Parker completed a run out to leave the hosts 17 runs short in a low-scoring thriller.

Top spot assured

Jindivick 8/144 def Buln Buln 139 Jindivick has all but assured themselves the minor premiership, narrowly defeating Buln Buln at the weekend.

Chasing 139, the Jumping Jacks cruised to 047, before Jack Symes (3-33) struck three big blows to leave Jindivick reeling.

Patty Ireland (2-29) and Sam Reid (2-38) got in on the act, as the away side were reduced to 8-120 and on the cusp of the defeat.

When things looked most dire, though, Matt Cheshire showed his class, guiding his side home with a patient 36 not out, as Kevin Larkman (15*) played a key role as well.

Hawks hold on

Drouin 3/267 def Yarragon 235 A wonderful century from Daniel Van De Burgt wasn’t enough to see Yarragon off the bottom of the ladder, as Drouin hung on for a wonderful victory.
