Very bad day out for Longwarry

Unlike their senior side, Longwarry reserves had a very bad day out against Ellinbank, losing 29 to 90.

The Eagles kept the Crows without a major score in the first term. They slightly improved in the second term, bring their total to 8 points for the half. But Ellinbank were miles in front. They hit 46 points by the main break. The momentum stayed with the Eagles for the rest of the match. The Crows doubled their halftime score in the third and then added 13 points by the final whistle, bringing the total to 29. But it was Ellinbank's day with a 14.6-90 to 4.5-29 scoreline.

Ashley Scott was best on ground for the Eagles. His efforts were backed up by Dylan Armour, Andrew Quirk, Tim Webster, Jayson Barwick and Michael Pandolfo.

Jason Smith was best on for Longwarry, backed up by Casey Wells, Braydon Monroe, Ben Cuckson, Robert Wind and Shayne Gillings.

It was a 34 point win for Buln Buln reserves on Saturday. They overcame Neerim Neerim South at Neerim South.

The Cats kicked two clean goals in the first and second quarters, but that was not to overcome the 34 points that belonged to the Lyrebirds at halftime. Buln Buln opened up a bigger lead as the game went on, finishing 9.6-60 to 4.2-26.

The Lyrebird's best on ground was Ashley Bridger. He was backed up by the efforts of Brent Waddell, Lex Wright, Matt Pearson, Kyan Willis and Rob McKerrow.

Best on for the Cats was Adam White. Chris Saunders, Steven Heath, Gabe Marsden and Luke Degaris were also influentia­l.

Poowong overcame Nyora 8.11-59 to 5.636 on Saturday at Nyora.

Steven Bromby was best on ground for the Magpies. Jye Loughridge, Jake Cochrane, Darcy Burgess Reece Attenborou­gh and Jake Lewis were also influentia­l.

Best on ground for the Saints was Matt Acardi. Honourable mentions went to Matt Acardi, Brett Kelly, Sam Collis, Luke Tagliaferr­o, Travis Stewart and Nick Fairbank.

Lang Lang triumphed against Yarragon on Saturday, winning 5.5-35 to 9.18-72 at Yarragon.

The Tigers held momentum for the whole match. The Tigers score was double that of the Panthers at halftime.

Brendon Boulton was best on ground for Lang Lang. Cory Dowson, Eden Shepherd, Kurt Batt and Corey Bouton were also influentia­l.

Chris Karlis was best on ground for his side. He was backed up by Tyler Joseph, Sam Perry, Ben Damschke, Chris Wallace and Brydon Price.

Nilma Darnum reserves will be wishing they had stayed at home on Saturday after a 104 point thrashing at the hands of Catani.

Nilma will look to rectify that when they play Poowong on Saturday. Catani will play Longwarry.
