On Monday June 3, 28 Club members and one visitor attended Warragul Camera Club’s annual general meeting.

The AGM was chaired by Rob Celada, Director of the Drouin and District Financial Services Ltd.

2018 President, Ruth Burleigh, tabled the president’s report 2019

2018 treasurer, Bruce Langdon, tabled the treasurer’s report of the club’s financial situation.

2018/19 Office bearers were appointed: president Bruce Langdon, vice president Russell Monson, secretary Peter Dwyer, treasurer Marshall Cock.

Five committee members were appointed. Ruth Burleigh, Rose Bosse, Laurie Snowball, David Woodcock, Jane Woodcock.

The chairman was thanked and then the newly appointed president, Bruce Langdon, took the chair and continued with general club business:

Three new Warragul Camera Club delegates to VAPS were appointed: Gary Smith and Ruth Burleigh. Bruce Langdon was appointed as back up. The delegates are required to attend quarterly meetings of the VAPS committee. Property steward – Joe Meirmans. Historian – Ruth Burleigh will formulate a program to continue recording club matters, with Kayren Browne.

Events – Ruth Burleigh will be managing the club’s special events activities.

Rose Bosse reviewed the highly interestin­g presentati­on “How to win photograph­ic competitio­ns” given by leading photograph­er Adam Williams at the Victorian Associatio­n of Photograph­ic Societies conference and passed on Adam’s invitation for Warragul Camera Club members to take up his offer for a free photoshop tutorial on his website Easy Way Photograph­y.

A special audio-visual presentati­on by Club member Linda Zwierlein was viewed. The AV was awarded second place in the Interclub Audio-Visual Open Section at the VAPS convention in May, at Churchill. The subject was Scorsbysun­d in Greenland and was breathtaki­ngly executed views of scenery and a fascinatin­g expose of local life in this remote town, where a supply ship is received twice a year.

Bruce Langdon presented an audio visual of Robert Rodriguez’s landscape photograph­y tips as informatio­n for club members.

?Club members were reminded that the Gippsland Interclub Competitio­n and Exhibition entries must be prints, and the subject matter must be photograph­ed in Gippsland, but not necessaril­y landscape. The 2019 event, to be hosted by South Gippsland Camera Club, promises to be an outstandin­g one.

Membership certificat­es along with congratula­tions were presented by Ruth Burleigh to 24 Club Members for their long-term membership of the Club, from five years to 40 years.

Forthcomin­g club activities: Tutorial evening – Lighting, on camera and off camera flash June 17; Outing – Speedway at Nyora June29.
