Man disturbed in house

Police are investigat­ing a burglary at a vacant property in Normanby St, Warragul last week where a homeless man possibly used the house to sleep for the night.

Police received a report from a person who attended the property at 11.30am on May 11 and located an unknown male in his late 20s at the house.

The man was described as having brown hair, medium to large build, 180cm tall and wearing black top with silver chain around his neck inside the property.

The man left immediatel­y on a bike wearing a red cap and carrying black backpack.

The man had gained entry to the house by smashing small rear window in toilet at rear of property.

Police searched the area but did not locate the man. Police said it appeared the man was homeless and had slept at the property for the night.
