Marist-Sion College

-

Marist-Sion is a coeducational Catholic secondary school, in which faith and spirituality play a key part in the holistic education we offer.

The College’s learning programs enable students to learn actively and prepare them to live life ‘to the full’. (Jn 10:10)

Teachers respond to the students’ diverse range of talents and interests; an array of curriculum options allow students to develop their gifts and to pursue their goals. High achieving students participate in the ‘Together, We Inspire’ program, which provides them with more challenging learning opportunities.

Additional learning support is also available for students with particular needs, so that all can experience success and an appropriate level of challenge.

Quality vocational programs are offered, including the Trade Pathways Program in Year 9.

A wide range of Vocational Education and Training courses are available for Years 10-12 students, and the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) provides excellent pathways for those pursuing a trade.

The vertical Housebased pastoral care system gives students an ‘extended family’ for their years at the College, and provides students and parents with ongoing support from a Tutor and a

Head of House.

Marist-Sion offers a selection of rich cocurricular opportunities.

Activities include a wide range of sporting competitions, dramatic performances, musical ensembles, community service activities, spirituality and social justice groups and leadership opportunities.

Over the past three years, College learning facilities have been given a significant lift through a series of capital improvements, to the total value of $10m.

However, the greatest asset of the school is its staff, who are dedicated, creative and caring professionals who are committed to helping each child to flourish into a capable adult.
