Education and Remote Learning
Drouin Secondary College has a positive learning culture, enabling students to understand themselves as learners. This is underpinned by the College’s emphasis on the power of a strong partnership between students, staff, parents and the local community. These relationships are particularly important in terms of student learning and wellbeing at challenging times like these.
The College continues to be forward thinking and dynamic and is well supported by its 21st Century ICT environment. Every student is issued a netbook and accesses an online curriculum for all subjects. With the addition of virtual classrooms, Drouin Secondary College was well equipped for the transition to remote learning.
To maximise academic and personal growth, the College caters for individuals’ needs, abilities and interests. Personalised learning and individual pathways provide challenge through our Accelerated Pathway Program, vertical elective choice, hands on learning, VET, VCAL, Head Start and a comprehensive VCE program.
Usually at this time of year, Drouin Secondary College is welcoming Grade 6 students and their families as they visit for the College Open Day. But not this year.
Instead the Year 7 team conducted online information sessions and expanded the College website as a hub of enrolment information for prospective families, including links to curriculum and pathways, enrolment processes and contacts, virtual tours and other useful resources.
To assist families in making informed decisions about their choice of secondary school, the College encourages prospective families to visit their website (drouin sc.vic.edu.au) for more on the learning culture and educational opportunities that Drouin Secondary College has to offer.
