Car burnt out

A car stolen from Bagot St, Warragul two weeks ago was found burnt out in Drouin West.

The black Nissan Tiida sedan was stolen between 7.30pm and 9.34pm on May 16.

Police said the vehicle was found engulfed in fire on Old Sale Rd at Drouin West.

Police said the vehicle was extensivel­y damaged and had significan­t front end damaged consistent with a collision.

In another incident, offenders attempted to steal a Mitsubishi Magna sedan in Warragul between 6pm on May 14 and 1pm on May 16.

The vehicles was parked outside the victim’s address in Scenic Rd. Police said offenders smashed the driver’s side rear quarter window. The offender rummaged through the vehicle but nothing was stolen. Police said the offender used an unknown implement, probably a screwdrive­r to force the ignition in an attempt to start the vehicle.

Offenders were unable to start the vehicle but caused significan­t damage to the ignition and steering column.

A wallet, coins and keys were among items stolen from a spate of thefts from cars in Yarragon last week.

Three vehicles in Woodlawn Bvd, Yarragon were all targeted on Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

Offenders gained entry to an unlocked blue Holden VE Commodore parked in the driveway of a home. The victim’s wallet was stolen.

In another incident, offenders entered an unlocked 2019 Nissan Navara utility parked in a driveway and stole coins and 20 keys.

A third vehicle parked on a nature strip also was broken into. The victim found her door cracked open and the glovebox and console had been opened. Nothing was stolen.
