Day to forget for Drouin

Drouin Bowling Club had a day to forget on Saturday with just one rink win and one draw across the three divisions.

Division one: Drouin 2/93 lost to Traralgon 18/109.

Drouin remains third on the ladder after a loss to second placed Traralgon.

Corey Atkinson, Steve Barr, Dale Hendrick and Mark Atkinson (skip) defeated Matt Ferrari’s team 29/25. Denise Hamilton, Jan Aubrey, Les Firth and Sheryl Atkinson (skip) lost to Wayne Lynch’s team 25/31. Peter Wallace, Graeme Aubrey, Samantha Atkinson and Toby Wallace (skip) lost to Michael Yacoub’s team 20/28. Maureen Leighton, John Leighton, Mick Fleming and Mark Leighton (skip) lost to James Scullin’s team 19/25.

Division two: Drouin (2) 1/60 lost to Traralgon (2) 19/129.

Justin Keddie, Neil Bullen, Chris Brownlee and David Tayles (skip) drew with David Currie’s team 24/24.

In this rink, Drouin was ahead by six shots until Traralgon drew six shots to gain the draw.

John Bickerdike, Mary Firth, Bruce Andrews and Col Finger (skip) lost to Graham Cross’ team 9/41. Terry McFadzean, Phil Jarred, Arthur Moore and Col Jeffrey (skip) lost to Barry Fernance’s team 16/25. Laurie Innes, Elaine Thorpe, Brian Thorpe and Necip Akarsu (skip) lost to John Taylor’s team 11/39.

Division four: Drouin (3) 0/48 lost to Yarragon 20/145.

Ian Haughton, Gwen Price, Peter Hone and Lloyd Smith (skip) lost to Richard Polmear’s team 9/39. Max Hine, Tom Lawler, Mary Andrews and Clive Newman (skip) lost to Sam Mazza’s team 5/60.
