MGJBA Round 2

This week we had singles matches in A Grade, which is scored separately to the special doubles.

In A Grade, 21 matches of singles were played across seven rounds. Out of all the games Ilyan Mofakhami and Aaron Remyn, both won 5 out of 6 of their matches. Ilyan was the player with the most aces across all his games with a total of 125 aces, with Aaron following extremely close behind at 123 aces. In their match against each other, Aaron was victorious 21/20 against Ilyan. The third highest total was Harry Thoppil with 115 aces, followed by Darsh Patel with 112, Pablo Neofitou with 104, Jaz Treble with 96, and Idris Mofakhami with 59. C Grade

Warragul defeated Drouin 3 matches to 3, with a total of 208 aces to 179. Therefore, Warragul was awarded with the additional match point. Labertouche defeated Ellinbank 5 matches to 1, with a total of 218 aces to 171. D Grade

Ellinbank Lime defeated

Drouin 2 matches to 1, with Drouin forfeiting the other 3 matches due to non-attendance. This means that the final aces were 170 for Ellinbank Lime and 65 for Drouin, with Ellinbank Lime being awarded a total of 6 match points. Ellinbank Blue defeated Ellinbank Gold 6 matches to 0, with 180 aces to 128 aces.

C/D Grade Game of the Week

The game of the week was between Drouin and Warragul in C Grade this week. Both teams won three matches each, with Warragul emerging victorious with 208 aces to Drouin’s 179.

It was a close game in the 1 and 2 doubles this week going to three sets. Drouin’s Logan and Phinn Perry defeated Warragul’s Samantha Liesnberg and Monique White 21/17, 18/21, 21/15.

In the 1&3 Doubles, Warragul’s Samantha and Michael Abramich defeated Drouin’s Logan and Nathan Young 21/7, 21/7.

In the 2 and 3 Doubles,

Warragul’s Monique and Michael defeated Drouin’s Phinn and Nathan 21/17, 21/19.

In the singles, Drouin’s Logan defeated Samantha 30/22, Drouin’s Phinn defeated Monique 30/19, and Warragul’s Michael defeated Nathan 30/9.
