The smiles and enthusiasm from all participants and officials as well as an energetic crowd, had organisers feeling chuffed knowing the new girls’ competition was growing quicker than anyone would have imagined.

The season will officially start in the next few weeks with the finer details to be finalised.

After the under 13 girls’ team, it was the under 10s turn to entertain a healthy crowd as the sun set. Players from both teams ran through a smoke machine which was a hit with the kids and added to the incredible atmosphere Warranor had created on the night. Warranor ending up the winner on the night.

In the under 12s, it was a dominant Warranor that accounted for Drouin Gold with Jack Dawson, Declan Ormerod and Oliver Adlington amongst the goals and the awards for Warranor, whilst Reid Collins was a standout controlling the backline.

Drouin Maroon won the match in the under 12s after a strong start. However, Koo Wee Rup certainly finished stronger, closing the gap to just 20 points at the final siren. For Koo Wee Rup, this was the first match of the season after the bye last week, and it was terrific to see all the boys and girls having a great first game.
