“I’m rich, I’m rich” - Scratchies win

-

When a Warragul woman broke the news to her husband they had won $100,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket, he fell off his chair in shock.

The top prize winning ticket was sold at Warragul’s Lucky Link Lotto.

The woman said she had purchased the ticket as a little treat.

“When I first scratched it, I thought I had won $10,000. I called my husband and I said ‘get home! I think we’ve won $10,000, I need you to check the ticket’.

“When my husband checked it, he fell off his chair. It was such a shock. I couldn’t believe it was actually a $100,000 win.

“I just kept saying wow, wow, wow. It’s insane! It just won’t sink in,” she said.

The woman said when she checked her bank account and saw the money had come through, she screamed out to her family, “I’m rich, I’m rich.”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her instant windfall, the woman said she was still trying to comprehend the news.

“I don’t know what we will do with it now,” she admitted.

“I do need a new vacuum, and I wouldn’t mind going on a weekend away.

“Hopefully, we can go overseas sometime soon too. I did spoil myself for Mother’s Day as well,” she said.

Lucky Link Lotto owner Kevin Riley said he loved making his customers winners.

“It’s certainly something you never get sick of. It’s only a small town, so to think we could know the winner is really exciting,” he said.
