Award for volunteers
Registrations are now open for Cardinia Shire’s 2021 Stan Henwood Award that recognises volunteer work in the shire.
The recipient will be announced at a dinner and reception on May 20 during National Volunteer Week.
The award recognises the lifetime contribution to the Tynong community and the municipality of the late Mr Henwood OAM.
Registrations for attendance at the reception are essential due to COVID regulations with numbers limited to two members per community group.
The event will include announcements of the nominees and winner of the Stan Henwood Award this year; guest speakers Ken Rook, recipient of the award last year, and this year’s Cardinia Shire citizen of the year Chris Rogers, and musical performances by Meg Doherty.
Mayor Brett Owen said the evening recognised and acknowledged the generous and invaluable contributions of the shire’s volunteers.
