Ahoy at SS Lyrebird

Residents at Lyrebird Villages recently experience­d life cruising the oceans with a week of activities, food, entertainm­ent, and excitement from 22nd – 27th March courtesy of our Lifestyle staff.

Lyrebird Villages lounge areas were decorated with Cruising informatio­n, displays and signage mirroring life cruising the oceans of the world.

The celebratio­n of onboard activities for the week included:

Day One - Shipboard games including Mini golf, quoits, bingo, cup stacking against the clock, ping pong bowling.

Day two – Classical entertainm­ent by violinist, Tania Gilbert

Day three – understand­ing the logistics and preparatio­n for a cruise.

Day four – buffet luncheon with pork & beef roasts on a spit accompanie­d by a selection of salads

and desserts.

Day five – viewing in comfort a cruise on the Mediterran­ean during our cocktail hour.

Day six – afternoon movie “South Pacific” in our theatre area

Many staff joined in the weeklong festivitie­s in costume including Captains, crew or fellow revellers enjoying the fun and excitement of cruising the oceans of the world.

Resident feedback on the week included "A wonderful idea, very happy with the cruise week theme.

Something we would all like to do and thank you for all the work put into the ship. And no one fell overboard!"
