Baw Baw Squash

In the final round of Baw Baw Squash the Stars held on to their sixth place and a spot in the finals by defeating the Heat in a close encounter.

In the first week of the finals the Stars meet the third-placed Blasters with the loser eliminated. The critical pairing for that contest will be between the most evenly matched players in the club, Russell Jackson and Bruce Bowering.

In the other elimination final the Strikers and Renegades, who finished with almost identical statistics, will play off.

The key to that match will likely be between Richard Jasek and Mark Crowley. Richard only lost one game for the season but Mark finished the season in good form with two strong wins in the last two weeks.

His court speed and rapid improvement will be a big challenge to the more experienced Richard. The Hurricanes and Royals, who finished first and second respectively, have a bye in which to prepare for their preliminary finals next week.
