Unusually sunny mornings and dry ovals allowed for fast footy, contested marks and lots of goals across all age groups in round three of West Gippsland Juniors.

Warranor v Drouin Maroon

It was just a five-minute trip for Drouin Maroon as they took on Warranor in all three grades on a perfect deck at Logan Park.

The under 10s was a very competitive game, with both teams evenly matched despite Warranor finishing the stronger, capitalising on its home ground to come home with the win.

For the away team, it was great to see both Ryan and Kyle Hanks kick a goal whilst other standouts included Angus Maling, Henry Driessen, Spencer Hawke and Mason Horton.

For the winners in Warranor, it was Mitchell Bradshaw, Lucas Crossley, Cohen Wolkow, Noah Lange and Gerard Alvarez who all stood out and Henry Boothman, Caleb Horner, Zac Cumming and Saxon Cook kicked goals.

In the under 12s, Warranor lead from start to finish. Drouin Maroon was unable to find any answers to the dominant midfield and forwards despite trying to mix things up.

It was a dominant performance from Jack Morgan who was amongst the best for Warranor. He had plenty of help with strong games from Steward Oling, Charlie Croucher, Cohen Dent, Reid Collins and Olly Liston-Crowe. Goal kickers for Warranor were Oliver Adlington, Declan Ormerod, Liston-Crowe, Morgan, Olliver Muir and Noah Smith.

Congratulations to Drouin Maroon’s Rory Van Riet who was named captain for the day in his 50th club game.

In the under 14s, the earlier two results were reversed by a fast-starting Drouin Maroon.

Noa Fogarty played his best game of the season, finishing amongst the best. He swapped on ball and down back with a dominant Brodie Atkins who impresses each week. John Stuckey, Blake Scriven, Seth Hill and Harry Gargan all finished amongst Drouin Maroon’s best players with Atkins, Blake Handley, Joshua Creely, Tyler Harkin, Kai McLeish and Thomas Cornwall all kicking goals.

For Warranor, despite the slow start, great effort from Joel Armstrong, George Morgan, Joel Kennon, Miles Doughty and Joshua Bradley ensured the match remained competitive with Armstrong, Stephen Oling, Damian Leslie, Bradley and Jack Morgan all kicking goals. Results:
