Under 10 Boys Metro

The under 10 boys hosted Brandon Park and started well early, with wingers Isaac Sharp and Jun O’Connor proving difficult for their opposition.

Harry Lee opened the scoring for Warragul and at one nil up the boys took the foot off the pedal and allowed Brandon Park back in the game as their striker put a shot wide of goalkeeper Tynan Newsome.

From then on, it was all Warragul, with Oliver Lee, Beckham Bremner and Zach Wilson all standing strong in the backline and Jesse Davis taking control of the middle.

The constant pressure from Warragul eventually paid off and goals came with a flurry, with the score finishing at 8-1 and another good win for Warragul in a very strong league. Goalscorers: Isaac Sharp 5, Harry Lee 2, Jesse Davis 1.

Under 12 Girls Metro

The girls started strong and finished the same way with plenty of shots at goal and first class saves from goalie Liv Jacobs. The defence was rock solid and the girls gelled well under the leadership of birthday girl and captain-for-the-day Georgia Nankervis.

Two goals each to Maddie Buhagiar, Sierra Colantuono and Emma Leslie. Game day awards went to Elizabeth Kuol and Liv Jacobs.

Final score 6-1 in favour of WUSC’s over Berwick City Firebirds.

Under 16 Boys Metro

Beaumaris SC welcomed Warragul on Mother's Day in a match between two teams with 100 per cent records so far this season. This was a tightly contested affair and chances were at a premium.

Warragul had the best of the early opportunities, with Tristan Silver and Finley Lock each going close.

However, it was Beaumaris who went ahead, scoring from a direct freekick midway through the first half.

But having gone behind for the first time this season, Warragul proved they will be a stern test for any side this campaign by immediately bouncing back, Jacob Cheney scoring direct from a cross which flew over the keeper's head and into the side netting. 1-1 at half-time.

The second half was keenly contested and both sides will feel they had chances to win the game.

In the Warragul goal, Liam Brock pulled off a fantastic save to deny Beaumaris their best chance, with Tristan Silver and Darcy Spencer being denied at the other end.

The final chance of the game fell to Dylan Sotiropoulos, however his drive from outside the box flew just wide.

In the end both sides had to settle for a point each, with the draw being a fair result. 1-1 at full-time.
