Bellfield Speech Pathology
Like all businesses and services over the past two years, Bellfield Speech Pathology has had the heavy constraints of not being able to see people face to face to conduct new client assessments, even though they have managed to very successfully adapt to providing online therapy support for families who were already receiving support. As a result of this their waiting list has expanded way beyond what is now manageable with their current staffing levels. Attracting and sourcing additional qualified Speech Pathologists has been difficult due to a national workforce shortage.
Innovation has been needed and late last year they ran their first 6 week Allied Health Assistant Training Program for those who were interested in applying their skills to Speech Pathology services. This was highly successful and the next program is scheduled to start in mid February. Please see the website and Facebook page for details if you are interested.
The team at Bellfield are also very concerned that they have not been able to maintain adequate contact with those waiting to receive support, as the impact of early intervention is critical for future success and development, both socially and academically. So this year they will be launching information and training nights and programs for their families who have made enquiries and are continuing to be waiting.
This is an exciting time for both the staff at Bellfield Speech Pathology and the families.
These sessions will be conducted by Rhonda Campbell, the founder and senior clinician.
She now has 40 continuous years of delivering speech therapy support in schools around Gippsland, early intervention settings and in the clinic. Please let us know if you may be interested in participating, and if you are already waiting, ever so patiently, expect to hear from them in the coming weeks to explore the options that will be available. For more information contact Holli at reception on 03 5622 0155 or email her at bellfieldadmin@bellfieldsp.com.au They continue to be committed to meeting individual needs and providing as much support as possible in these trying times.
