Bouquets to the kind gentleman who anonymously paid for the lunch my grandson and I enjoyed at Middels last Saturday. Your generous gesture was such a surprise and sincerely appreciated, thank you.

Bouquets to all the Ficifolia sponsors and volunteers who supported and worked tirelessly to enable the 34th Drouin Ficifolia Festival to go ahead. It was a wonderful day enjoyed by the townsfolk.

Large bricks to Baw Baw Shire for removal of the camellias and the Lily of the Valley Tree from the site of the proposed Baw Baw Cultural and Connectivity Centre. It is said to be removed for testing of the site. Site testing does not occur at the edge of the road. The tree could have been relocated in Civic Park. Total lack of respect for the community; and disregard for those volunteers who continue to work on establishing the Warragul Tree Register and advocate for the environment.

Bricks to the cyclist who yelled “Get your husband to do this” when riding past me, when I was deadheading agapanthus in the roadside bed of my Darnum garden on a hot Sunday afternoon. I’m a widow. And yes, it hurt. And no, it’s not going to help me nurture forgiving thoughts when next time I’m stuck again behind your tribe that’s leisurely cycling three abreast

Bricks to Drouin Woolworths for not including an express aisle. Not everyone wants or likes to use the self service nor do we like waiting longer than need be.

Double bricks to Baw Baw Shire for its short-sightedness regarding the new Warragul parking changes. The main businesses in the CBD are hairdressers and cafes and the new restrictive parking times don’t allow enough time to visit either. Let’s hope they don’t invest in more parking attendants to fine us for overstaying our welcome.
