The day was a huge success that gave longtime servant Kevin Whitmore a huge retirement day.

The other big event for the week was the seniors two-person stableford aggregate played on Friday with a great field of 80 players.

The pairing of John Hoare and Tina Cowie made it a week to remember but lost on a countback to P. Rodwell and G. Moreland.

The next veterans’ event is West Gippland versus South Gippsland at Warragul next Monday.

Entries need to be lodged at the club now.

With many workers returning to the 9-to-5 grind, Thursday fields are returning to their average size of around the 60 players. Last Thursday attracted 56 players in three grades.

Mark Robertson got the A Grade decision with a round of 41 points playing off his mark of 13 to defeat club champion Shane Male who returned an excellent round of 40 points.
