Flood fundraiser in Yarragon

-

The Yarragon Ale House at Yarragon is holding a fundraiser for victims of the floods in New South Wales.

The event will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Organiser Damian Langley said he had been affected by images of people ion flood torn New South Wales and he was keen to assist.

"We all know or been touched by someone that's been affected by the recent devastation of the floods in northern NSW and we are appealing to Gippslanders to dig into their pockets to donate money." he said.

Mr Langley has organised a truck to be parked at the business in Rollo St Yarragon. He is inviting people to stock the truck with non perishable food and other items that may be useful for flood victims.

The event is also supported by Yar Brewing, Goodland Brewing, Traralgon, Burra Brewing, Korumburra, Bandolier Brewing, Warragul and Sailors Grave, Orbost.

Live Music will feature throughout the weekend with local artists donating their time to the cause.

Drouin Warragul Apex Club will provide a sausage sizzle as well as conducting a silent auction and raffle.

Mr Langley invited people to attend the event and donate items or donate money to the cause. He said the Ale House was working closely with the Mt Warning Am Rotary Club NSW. This is to ensure that money's raised will be used to purchase items the flood effected communities actually need. Once established, items will be bought and transported directly to the region with the Mt Warning Am Rotary Club delegating items to those most in need.

Apex club liaison Tony Forest said it was a great opportunity to help those in need.

"With money raised from the sausage sizzle, silent auction and beer sales over the three day event being used to purchase goods locally, for those in need in northern NSW. Anyone donating is actually helping the flood victims plus our local stores as well and can be confident that no money will be lost in red tape, as there is no middle man. I

A truck and fuel to deliver goods to NSW has been donated by Latrobe Concrete Pumping, and will be at the Yarragon Ale House over the weekend to receive any non perishable goods.
