The Don Piner two person Ambrose memorial day was played on Saturday in fantastic weather conditions, with only a slight breeze and bright sunny skies.
Forty pairings played on the day with Kevin Johnson and Mark Johnson winning by a quarter of a stroke with 60.5. Runners up were Tim Bethune and Brad Bennett with 60.75.

Garfield
Autumn is definitely here, the best time of the year for golf, with crisp mornings and fine mild days now the norm.
On Saturday the 27 hole club foursomes championship was played and the Winners were Geoff Turner, having a good run and Matt Skinner with a total score of 117 scratch.
Played in conjunction with that event was the annual King Trophy 27 hole foursome event with a count back required to split the result.
Marty Atkins and Bob Calderara got the umpires nod defeating Ash Graham and Malcolm Hirt with a score of 99.75.
thursday's weather was perfect for golf with a field of 57 facing the starter. Ian Lidstone broke a very long run of outs to post the day's best round with a B grade winning score of 41 points defeating Ben Huggett by the one point in the process.
Trevor Franklin did best for the A grade event with a round of 37 points to defeat Clint Williams and Tim Sallai by the one point.
Peter Lazarus returned to the Winners list by getting the C grade victory with a less than handicap result of the 35 points to defeat both Ian Nicholson and a resurgent Rob Morris whom both had totals of 34 points.
A final score of 35 points or better was required to get a ball down the line.
the veterans recently travelled up to Montuna for a game of single stableford which was attended by 10 Garfield members out of a total field size of the 78 players. Just the solitary Garfield member, Trevor Guille posted a score in the 30s by signing for a total of 33 points.
The next vets event is at Yallourn with the four divisions to fight it out. they are West, South and East Gippsland as well as a team from the Mornington Peninsula and is scheduled for play on April 4. Garfield will be allocated three spots in the field depending on the final entries so ring John Scale re your interest in attending this event.
Garfield plays host to the vets on April 11 so entries to John for that event no later than April 7.
Next Saturday is the Mixed Colliver Trophy event played as a four ball aggregate stableford game, with a 10.30am rolling start.
