12 Trafalgar players at nationals

Trafalgar Polocrosse Club players were among the state's best when they represente­d Victoria in finals at the National Polocrosse Championsh­ips in Ballarat recently.

Victoria was represente­d in two finals including the women's against New South Wales and the under 21s against Queensland.

Trafalgar players Katie Martin, Taylor Radford and Kim Templeton were members of the women's team who took on the undefeated NSW powerhouse. The Victorian team stayed in the game, but NSW proved too strong.

The individual accolades came for Kim Templeton, taking out best number one player and overall best women's player .

In the under 21s, Trafalgar's Ryan Dyke and Angus Templeton were part of the Victorian team to take on Queensland in the final. While the lead changed many times, Queensland jumped out to a four goal lead which Victoria was unable to chase down.

There were 12 Trafalgar club players represente­d in Victorian team with others including under 12s players Jake Jolly, Klancy Heeremans, Lenny McMahon and Jaxon Templeton, in a team coached by Trafalgar member Cameron Templeton; Cody Templeton in the under 16 mixed team; Dan Puglia in the mens; and, MickTtempl­eton in the masters.

Ballan club members Annette, Blake and Toby Radford, all of Trafalgar played for Victoria in the open mixed and under 16 mixed competitio­ns.

Polocrosse Associatio­n of Australia named Angus Templeton in an Australian under 21 team to play in a test series against New Zealand in Sydney in June. It will be the 19-yearold's debut in the green and gold colours.

Trafalgar's Taylor Radford will represent Australia next month at an internatio­nal test series against New Zealand in Warwick, Queensland. Taylor has previously represente­d Australia in under 21s competitio­ns but this will be her Australian debut in open competitio­n.
