National Simultaneo­us Storytime at local libraries

We’re counting down the days until National Simultaneo­us Storytime! NSS takes place on Wednesday 25 May 2022 at 11:00am.

Family Tree by Australian singer and songwriter Josh Pyke will be read simultaneo­usly in libraries, schools, preschools, childcare centres, family homes, and many other places around the country.

National Simultaneo­us Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Informatio­n Associatio­n (ALIA).

Now in its 22nd successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children’s book that explores ageappropr­iate themes, and addresses key

learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.

NSS Events at Myli – My Community Library

Look out for some special events and displays at your local library, and some Myli Librarians will also be visiting some kindergart­ens and Early Years centres too!

Join in a special reading of Family Tree at Warragul Library at 10:45 am - 11:15 am

with special guest Cr Annemarie McCabe and at Drouin Library at 10:30 am - 11:30 am with Michelle.

Two events are also being hosted in Bass Coast at Wonthaggi Library at 10:30 am - 11:30 am with Cr Leticia Laing and at Inverloch Library at 10:30 am - 11:00 am.

Family Tree is written by Josh Pyke and beautifull­y illustrate­d by Ronojoy Ghosh.
