Inspired early education means learning for life

-

Y Kinders aim to prepare children not just for school, but to give them lifelong learning skills through inspired early education.

As Emma Davis, Pedagogical Leader at Y Kinders, explains, “Our programs are future focused.

We are aware that society is rapidly changing. Many of the jobs that children will go into, do not exist today.

We recognise that time at kindergarten is not just about what children are learning, it is that they are learning how to learn.

This is the best way to equip them for the future and make sure that they are adaptable to whatever comes their way.

We are building a community of learners.”

Inspired early education supports children’s interest and inquiry, empowering them to formulate questions and seek answers. It builds confidence, resilience, creativity, and curiosity.

Regular local community excursions are one way that Y Kinders encourage exploration, new experiences and stimulate discovery.

These are a regular part of programs at all Y Kinders and also help build a sense of belonging and connection.

“Our kindergartens are very much integrated into their local communities, and routinely venture out.

We also have very close relationships with all our local schools, meaning that the next step in the learning journey is so much smoother,” said Pauline Whyte, Teacher at Grace Berglund Kindergarten. “We are very proud of our approach and high quality program.”

Y Kinders manages 11 kindergartens across the Baw Baw Shire.

The kindergartens offer a range of session models across the region, meaning many options for families.

Tours can be arranged by contacting the kindergartens directly.
