C Grade: Drouin defeated Ellinbank 4 games to 2, with 201 to 182 aces respective­ly. Warragul defeated Labertouch­e 6 games to 0, with 246 to 170 aces respective­ly.

D Grade: Ellinbank Gold defeated Drouin 5 games to 1, with 177 to 140 aces respective­ly. Warragul defeated Ellinbank Blue 5 games to 1, with 174 to 132 aces respective­ly

C/D Grade Game of the Week: The game of the week was played in C grade between Drouin and Ellinbank this week, with Drouin defeating Ellinbank 4/2 with 201/182 aces.

In the 1&2 Doubles, Ellinbank’s Archer Thorne and Tim McDonald defeated Logan Perry and Will Johnstone 21/12 and 21/16.

In the 1&3 Doubles, Drouin’s Will Johnstone and Ethan Rhodes defeated Archer Thorne and Paul Mawditt 21/19, 14/21, and 21/16.

In the 2&3 Doubles, Drouin’s Phinn Perry and Ethan Rhodes defeated Tim McDonald and Paul Mawditt 21/11 and 21/7.

In the singles, Ellinbank’s Archer defeated Logan 30/15, Drouin’s Will defeated Tim 30/26, and Phinn defeated Paul 30/10.

The final score was Drouin with 4/2 games won with 201/182 aces earned.

Little Smashes

On Friday night, the first round of Little Smashes was played at Warragul Stadium.

It is a training competitio­n for younger and newer players to get involved and have some fun.

The Little Smashes program is run abetween 5.30pm and 6.30pm, with three more nights this year – June 10; July 22; and August 18.

Friday had eight new players in attendance. The format was singles, with an emphasis placed on learning about the court space and on how to umpire.

Overall, 10-year-old Ashlyn Board won each of her matches for this round, with other honourable mentions being Max Allen and Omar Sankari who also did well.
