Championships decided
After COVID delays, Drouin Croquet Club members contest the 2021 club championships finals in recent months.

Division one (handicap range 0-6):
Kelvin Marriot was the winner, defeating Heather Bullen 7/2, 7/4.
Division two (handicap 7-10):
Nannette Fry was the winner, defeating Allan Leesing 7/5, Jenny Leesing 7/4, Barbara Mitchell 7/3, Vicky Rogers 7/3 and lost to Bob Quayle 4/7.
Division three (handicap range 11-14):
Helen Bolton played consistently throughout the championship, winning all of her seven games. She defeated Janette Fisher 7/0, Geina Daley 7/5, Cris Musgrove 7/6, Trish Turner 7/3, Vivien Clarke 7/3, Ray Walton 7/4 and Mick Crawford 7/5.
At the end of the championship event, Helen was given a non-automatic handicap reduction to 12.
The three divisional winners then played off for the club champion title. It was closely contested, with all three players winning one game each.

Nanette Fry - one win, 12 points for, 10 points against, +2
Helen Bolton - one win, 10 points for, 11 points against, -1
Kelvin Marriot - one win, 9 points for, 10 points against, -1

Six members contested this event over five weeks, with Allan Leesing (handicap 9) playing consistent croquet each week. He did not lose one match throughout the championship. Final results:
Allan Leesing - five wins, +19 was crowned champion for 2021.
Runner up was the 2020 champion Jenny Leesing (hcp 12) with three wins, +22, followed by Barrie Smith (hcp five) with three wins, +20, Heather Bullen (hcp18) with two wins, -14, Nanette Fry (hcp 16) with one win, -9, and Margaret Smith (hcp. 16) with zero wins, -38.
