The next meeting of West Gippsland Orchid Club will be held on August 4 at a new starting time of 7:30pm. It was decided to trial this new start time during the colder months, the setting up of the hall will begin at 7pm.

There were 15 members at the July meeting and a small number of top quality plants displayed. As the judges were unable to attend the meeting there was a popular vote by all members resulting in a tied result for John Harris and Peter MacKenzie.

Membership is now due for the new financial year and details are in the newsletter for this. Thanks to the members who have already paid.

Next meeting will include discussion and planning for the upcoming Spring Orchid Show on September 17 and 18 held at the Drouin Anglican Church Hall. Demonstrations will be given by experienced members on plant preparation and presentation for the show.

The group is made up of a friendly bunch of orchid growers ready to share knowledge with others and would love for interested newcomers to join the group.
