Wednesday Warragul Drouin

The weather for Wednesday's Stableford competition was not very favorable, however eight brave players battled the elements to finish their rounds. The winner for the day was Brian Seers who had 33 points.

Saturday

A four ball best ball competition was played on Saturday with some very good scores recorded.

Winners for the day were Mark Klaver and Phil Beruldsen who scored 46 points.

DTL's went to Dermott and Rohan Berkhout with 44 points, Shane Davidson and Glenn Vanderlight also with 44 points and Danny Gorman and Glenn Robinson with 43 points.

NTP's were Michael Lithgow on the 5th, Glenn Vanderlight on the 8th, Darren McKerrow on the 10th and Kevin Johnson on the 14th.

Upcoming events are Stableford on Wednesday and stroke on Saturday for August's monthly medal.

Drouin women

The cold, wet conditions meant the women's Stableford competition was not held on Tuesday July 26.

Saturday July 23, the winner of the women's Stableford competition was Marg Purcell (15) with 29 points on a countback. Kay Grieve (34) and Meagan Ford (26) also had 29 points.

Only a handful of ladies braved the frosty start on Saturday with Kay Feaver (15) taking out the win with 25 points. Drouin women played an American foursomes event on Tuesday July 19 in blue skies and better than expected conditions.

Today's event is a stroke event, coinciding with the August monthly medal.

Garfield

After a very cold icy start , Saturday's golfers were blessed with great conditions for the day's comp of single Stableford, which was attended by a field of the 95 players.

Trevor Franklin, having a very consistent winter season, joined an elite club this week by winning both Thursday's comp with an A grade winning round of 37 points and then saddling up on Saturday for another A grade win with a score of 39 points. A rare achievement not to be undervalued.

Grant McKay broke a run of outs by getting the B grade win, also with a score of 39 points playing off his mark of 15 to defeat Jackson Bennet and Glenn Wells by the two points whilst Mark Cousin had the day's best result with a round of 40 points to defeat Jake Went by four points for the C grade win.

A final score of 34 points or better was required to get a ball down the line. Just the 10 birdies were scored for the day on the par threes.

The weather started out fine and clear on Thursday morning but showers arrived at 12:30pm and hung around the rest of the day.

The aforementioned Franklin defeated an unlucky Ash Graham for the A grade win by the one point with Graham scoring the seven one-pointers for his round.

Trevor Male got some form back by finishing third with a score of 35 points as well as the same score during Monday's round.

Peter Lazarus had the best score on Thursday with a B grade winning effort of 39 points playing off his mark of 29 to defeat Don Stark by the one point.

A final score of 34 points back to a countback was needed to get a ball down the line.

Speaking to the head green keeper Tym, the new third green will hopefully be ready for play come September/October which everyone is looking forward to.

Next Saturday is the playing of the August monthly medal.
