Gulls impress in senior grades over Magpies

-

Warragul netballers had a clean sweep of the senior grades at the Burke St courts against Sale on Saturday.

A grade: Warragul defeated Sale 60-32

Sale came out firing in the first quarter but a few positional changes saw Warragul break away in the second.

Some great defensive pressure from Alex Cole, Renee Cook and Brontë Harvey created the opportunity to capitalise in attack. The midcourt worked tirelessly with Sienna Green and Mia McGarrity both having very strong games.

The continued growth in goals from Ella Rees was very impressive.

But the most impressive game was by Gulls favourite Jaime Rollinson.

Best on court: Jaime Rollinson and Sienna Green.

B grade: Warragul defeated Sale 51-33

A fantastic game by the Gulls saw them have an easy win over Sale.

Warragul’s quick and agile midcourters, along with the accurate shooting and creative play of the Warragul goalers, saw the opposition struggle to keep up.

The Gulls were well supported by a talented defensive end, applying pressure and an intensity on the ball that Sale had no match for. A great team effort.

Best on court: Naomi Allardyce.

Awards: Lily Sheehan and Sophie Fennell.

C grade: Warragul defeated Sale 32-31

It all came down to the last minute, with the Gulls coming away with a very well deserved four points.
