-

Competitions, displays and market stalls will be on offer when the Baw Baw Pet Expo returns to Warragul on Sunday, April 2.

The free event for pet lovers, owners and their furry four-legged friends will be held at Burke St Park from 10am to 3pm.

The expo will offer more than 30 market stalls from various local businesses, trainers and wildlife displays, competitions and a special guest appearance from PAW Patrol pup Chase.

The day aims to bring together community members to interact with other pet lovers in the area, gain valuable resident information on pet ownership and receive tips on managing the wellbeing of our furry friends.

A number of competitions and activities will provide highlights for pet owners including fastest dog, best trick and pet look-alike.

11am – 2:30pm: Baw Baw Fastest Dog - A challenge to determine Baw Baw’s fastest dog will run from 11am to 2.30pm. Small, medium and large dog breeds will compete in a 15m sprint to test dog’s sit, stay, recall abilities as well as their speed. The winners in each category will take home a prize and bragging rights.

A prize pack will also be on offer for the winner of the best trick at noon and the pet look-alike parade at 12.30pm.

“The pet expo is a great way for our local community to get together and celebrate all that is great about being a pet owner,” Baw Baw Shire mayor Annemarie McCabe said.

“With so much to see and do, from live demos, freebies, competitions and tips and tricks from industry experts, I look forward to seeing so many community members and their beloved pets at this free, fun, family and fur friendly event.”

Pets must be on a lead and always secured during the expo.
