Beaconhills boarding: the best of both worlds
Are you looking for a boarding school that offers students the best of both rural and city life?
Beaconhills College has two modern, spacious and safe boarding residences next to its Pakenham Campus, providing a ‘home away from home’ in a supportive and stimulating environment.
Head of Boarding, Joel Blashki, said one of the unique benefits of Beaconhills boarding is that only two students share a room.
Each room has its ensuite too, rather than just one common bathroom.
Boarders enjoy a wide range of fresh, healthy food, with an in-house cook preparing meals each night and breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea also provided.
While some activities and study times are more structured, Mr Blashki said students are also encouraged to suggest ideas around their own interests.
“Overall, it’s a pretty energetic and positive place,” he said.
Each residence has a lounge/TV room, kitchen/dining/ sitting room, laundry and spacious garden/ outdoor areas.
After school students can use College facilities such as basketball courts, football and soccer fields, library and gym.
The residences are staffed 24 hours by experienced residential supervisors and mentors, with supervised study and support for academic and student wellbeing a priority.
Mr Blashki is currently focusing on building relationships with other boarding schools around Melbourne to find future opportunities for collaboration.
For example, Beaconhills
boarders recently attended a senior school social with students from Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC) in Melbourne.
Beaconhills College’s Open Day is from 10am to 2pm on Saturday 29 April. Register via the website.
