Player count called for in reserves

A PLAYER count was called for during the reserves match between Trafalgar and Yarragon.

With the Bloods controllin­g proceeding­s during the second term, the home team called for a count where it was found the Panthers had an extra on the field.

Trafalgar booted the first six goals of the game on the way to winning, 11-9 (75) to 3-2 (20).

After Trafalgar booted the first goal of the second half, the Panthers booted consecutiv­e goals in a competitiv­e third term, each side booting three goals.

The Bloods finished with the final three goals of the contest to round out a strong win.

Aydan Connolly, Jayden Thomas, Jaxen Row, Jackson Noonan, Luke O'Neill and Oscar Robinson led the way for Trafalgar.

Better players for Yarragon were Dean Fitzgerald, Ryan Young, Lucas Kilday, Daniel Burke, Kye Osseweyer and Lachlan King.

GREATER accuracy helped Longwarry account for Nilma-Darnum, 8-7 (55) to 2-10 (22).

The Bombers had recorded 10 behinds to the final change, before finishing with two straight to win the final term.

Josh Collett, Lucas Kallady, Ned Bain, Aidan Weekes, Billy Jones and Bradley Yeo were the better players for the Crows.

The better players in a strong effort from the Bombers were Matt Cheyne, Harrison Moore, Rhonan Perry, Ethan Carlile, Luke Galley and Riley Feil.

NEERIM-NEERIM SOUTH took control early to deliver a comfortabl­e victory over Buln Buln, 13-6 (84) to 5-7 (37).

The Cats booted five goals to two in the first term and held a slight edge over the first three terms, the contest tightening up in the final term with one goal apiece.

Rhys George, Harry Notman, Adam White, Jeremiah Jones, William Johnson and Steven Heath led the way for the Cats.

The better players for Buln Buln were Jared Lane, Bryce Monahan, Josh Bloink, Will Battley, Simon Dawson and Jarrod Castle.

A FIVE goal second term handed Ellinbank the advantage over Catani, going on to win 10-10 (70) to 2-2 (14).

Nathaniel Rodda lined up in the Reserves to show increased depth for Catani. He finished among the better players, but Ellinbank were able to control the contest through the likes of Logan Joyce, Tony Wright, Andrew Quirk, Ben Dixon, David Miller and Jayson Barwick.

Other better players for the Blues were Thomas Robinson, Ben Geyer, Ryan Orridge, Nicholas Cullen and Jack Hobson.

NYORA'S increased depth has paid off early, with its reserves recording a comfortabl­e victory over Poowong, 10-16 (76) to 1-4 (10).

Kye Gillespie booted five goals, receiving good supply courtesy the likes of Darren Jameson, Brad Drews, Evan Jeremiejcz­yk, Rob Moxon, Blake Thompson and Tyson Shiell.

Poowong's better players were Rhys Butler, Brayden Hunter, Reece Attenborou­gh, Gavin Broad, Fiachra Staunton and Jake Lewis.
