Crows kids come good
A new look under 16 Longwarry line up continued winning form from the 2022 season, comfortably accounting for the new Nilma-Darnum side, 8-8 (56) to 2-2 (14).
The Crows were to unfurl their premiership flag, but that had to be unceremoniously postponed as some one had stolen the ropes from the flagpole at Longwarry Recreation Reserve.
The Bombers celebrated fielding its first team at junior level in some time and made a gallant effort, trailing by just 10 points at the final change.
Five goals to nil in the final term pushed the margin out.
Dean Bailey, Mitchell Grant, Harrison Gilbert, Tyler Hickford and Ethan Seskis led the way for the Crows, while better players in a good first up effort for the Bombers were Jaxon Cook, Darcy Britt, Blake Meggetto and Patrick Brown.
TRAFALGAR overcame a slow start to kick away from Yarragon, winning 9-16 (70) to 1-2 (8).
The Bloods straightened up following a wayward second quarter that realised 2-6.
Memphis McQualter, Isaac Caroleo, Liam Coulthard, Juddson Ryan, Toby McCabe and Angus Carlson were the better players for Trafalgar.

ELLINBANK'S strong junior program was on show as the Eagles accounted for Poowong, 2019 (139) to 3-4 (22).
The Magpies won the second term, booting two goals to one, but otherwise found the visitor too strong.
Joel Armstrong, Logan Joyce, Hugh Cunningham, Ashley Debenham, Charlie Armour and Shayne Sherry set up the big win.
Doing their best to stem the tide for Poowong were Jett Blackwood, Rory Nettle, Blake Hanmer, Aaron Damon, Gavin Monson and Kohen Mandemaker.
LANG LANG had the bye.
