On Monday, April 3, 34 club members and four guests attended the April general meeting which was held at Warragul RSL and saw the Warragul Camera Club’s members entries for “Interior Architectural Textures” - images, using the existing light of the structure, focussing on the interior texture and surface of any man-made structure showing how the light, colour tones or geometry provide or contribute to the character of the structure. Eighty entries were received.

Club competition steward Mike Moore presented the images for the competition presentation. The club’s website will feature all the competition entries for the public to view.

The images were judged by guest judge Ian Bock. Ian will be celebrating his 90th birthday in July and everyone is invited to his July exhibition at the Melbourne Camera Club in South Melbourne. Ian has been a photographer for 75 years and 50 years as an active Member of the Melbourne Camera Club.

Jane Woodcock spoke about the recent Warragul National Competition judging day which went extremely well. There was a record number in excess of 1700 images to be judged. Some remote judging took place because of the huge number of entries received. There were a larger number of print entries this year. There is now more work to be done including the curating of the Warragul National Exhibition. Special things are planned and members are advised to keep May 13 free for these.

Jane handed the new Warragul National Exhibition promotional postcards to members for distribution to their neighbours, friends, and families.

Russell Monson had a quantity of photographic paper packs for those who would like to take some home. Home Grown Design, a major club sponsor has supplied packs of Ilford glossy which is a good paper for printing images to check colour and clarity during post processing.

Bruce reminded everyone that nominations for all committee positions at the AGM are now open. The AGM is on June 6. The committee is great for people who are passionate about our club to band together. Jan Bennett will be the collecting officer for nominationssecretary@warragulcameraclub.org

Following judging Ian Bock presented a slide show images of how he sees Melbourne. Ruth Burleigh presented an AV record of Club Members’ March outing to Montsalvat.

Next club general meeting will be held Monday, May 1 when “Speed” competition images will be judged.
