Bricks and Bouquets

-

A tractor full of bouquets to the Lardner Park team for another fabulous Farm World. With my $25 pre purchased ticket and kids 16 and under free it made for an easy gate entry. Full to capacity exhibitor sites showcasing over 650 brands and the three day event, in particular the Sunday, proved a success with over 40,000 people attending. A well thought out, well planned and well executed event and to top it off over $50,000 donated to local schools, community groups and clubs for their service to Farm World 2023. Well done Lardner Park.

Bricks to people who move to an area and then proceed to bitch and moan about legitimate pre-existing activities such as farming or the Jindivick quarry.

A bouquet to West Gippsland Vet Care in Warragul for the amazing care and commitment to looking after my standard poodle Benji. The women vets and staff went above and beyond to not only look after Benji but myself also. They allowed me to visit him every day and bring food for him. The level of care was outstanding and I cant thank them enough.

Bricks to the low level of staffing at the Trafalgar Police Station.

Bricks and bouquets for Baw Baw Shire. Bouquets for their effort to fix the public toilets in Latrobe St, Warragul where the floors were recently resurfaced and the leaky pipes were fixed.

Bricks for not actually finishing the job properly, by not bothering to fix the flushing mechanisms and not clearing the rooftop cobwebs, along with tidying up around the toilets in general. As these toilets are usually the first port of call for tourists visiting the general Gippsland area, they don’t make a very good first impression of the shire.

A huge bouquet to Wesley of Warragul for organising a concert last Sunday by the young and talented Invictus Quartet. They played Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and then a series of classics melded with popular music. A fantastic concert that left us all cheering. Thank you.

A B-double tipper load of bricks to Baw Baw Shire councillors for continuing to do nothing about the increasing number of dangerous quarry trucks on our local road network. Yet the potholes these trucks create and damage to road edges that they cause, enables them to generate their own business, by supplying local road repair crews with crushed rock to fix the roads. Oh, the irony of it all.

Bricks and bouquets is your chance to have your say.
