Anzac Day services throughout the shire

Anzac Day will be commemorated with services at 16 centres throughout Baw Baw Shire.

Longwarry, as has been the custom for many years, will have its service on the Sunday before the official date but all others in the shire will be on Tuesday, April 25, the anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli by troops from the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps in 1915.

The service at the memorial in Longwarry Memorial Park on Sunday, April 23, will begin at 2pm.

The program of commemoration activities on Anzac Day is:

Warragul:

6am - Dawn service. at cenotaph junction of Smith and Victoria Sts.

9.50am - March in Victoria St to cenotaph. 10am - Main service at cenotaph.

Smith and Victoria Sts closed to vehicles between Palmerston St and Queen St from 5.30am to 7.30am and from 9.15am until 11.30am.

Drouin:

6am - Dawn Service at cenotaph in Memorial Park, Princes Way.

9.30am - March from Community Bendigo Bank car park to cenotaph.

10am - Main service in Memorial Park. Princes Way closed to vehicles between Main South Rd and Francis Ave between 5.30am and 7am and 9.30am and 11.30am.

Trafalgar:

6am - Dawn service at cenotaph.

10.45am - March from Criterion Hotel to cenotaph.

11am - Main service.

Contingent St closed to vehicles between Kitchener St and Princes Highway from 10.30am until 11.30am and Kitchener St closed between Contingent and Wellington Sts between 10.30am and 2pm.

Neerim South:

2pm - Service at cenotaph, Craig Watts skate park.

There will be a temporary traffic hold on Main Neerim and Neerim East Rds between 1.45pm and 2.10pm.

Darnum: 11am at Darnum cenotaph.

Erica:

9am - Service at cenotaph.

Moe-Walhalla Rd between Station St and Thomson Valley Rd will be closed from 8.30am to 10am.

Walhalla: 6am at Walhalla war memorial. Main Rd closed 5am to 6.45am. Detours to be in place.

Aberfeldy: 11am at the Aberfeldy Anzac memorial.

Hill End: 10.30am at cenotaph. Longwarry North:

6am - Dawn service.

9.30am - Main service.

Narracan: 9.30am at Narracan East cenotaph.

Thorpdale: 9am at cenotaph.

Noojee: 6am at Noojee cenotaph.

Willow Grove: 10.30am at cenotaph. Yarragon: 10.30am at Yarragon cenotaph.
