1732 entries of photographic images entered from across Australia were a record for the National Competition which was judged 1st April.

The judged accepted photos will be on public view for three days commencing Friday 12 May at West Gippsland Arts Centre and should not be missed.

Included will be 166 prints of celebrations, portraits, open monochrome & colour, abstract, scapes and social documentary sections.

Digital photography is becoming the preferred form of record and display for photographic images, and the Digital Image sections include open, still life, creative, architecture and animals & wildlife.

These make up the huge number of 370 Digital images that will be displayed on the big screen, as a continuous loop for the three days of the Exhibition.

Five special prints created on fine Hahnemühle paper by Image Science fine art printing will feature the five winning digital photos on a special display.

Again, the Peoples’ Choice votes will provide an inclusive experience for everyone that attends the free Exhibition, and the chosen winning image will receive the special Peoples’ Choice Award.

Jane Woodcock, Chairperson, commented that the talent of Australian photographers is to be greatly admired at this year’s exhibition.

In particular the Digital Image Creative section is fast becoming more and more popular for those with amazing imagination to create fascinating and intriguing pictures by using clever manipulation in post-processing (editing).

These must be seen on the large digital screen.
