Tanjil Valley Art Show

-

The Tanjil Valley Art Show, proudly supported by the Community Bank Trafalgar and District, is now in its 17th year and has become a community event, looked forward to by both children and adults alike and held in the Hill End Community Centre, located at 22 Paynter’s Road, Hill End every King’s Birthday weekend.

The primary purpose of the show is to en¬courage the community to participate and also showcase the Tanjil Valley.

Now we have entries from all over Gippsland and beyond, plus sponsors from local businesses and families.

Categories include 2D art for adults, 14 to 18-year olds, and under 14’s.

The 2D adult art section must represent the Tanjil Valley in some way, whether vistas, flora and fauna, waterways, human activities, buildings, machinery etc. An open topic is available for the “Little Treasures” section, maximum size 30cm x30cm.

A choice of topic is available to 14 to 18-yearolds and under 14’s.

The Photography subject is “Baw Baw Shire” and for the Under 19’s the subject is open.

This year, there is a new section called Post Cards from Baw Baw, featuring scenes from the Shire.

There is also a section for “Creative Digital Art”, something not found in many art shows.

The major award is “The Best Portrayal of the Tanjil Valley”, also six ‘Special Awards’ and many minor awards totalling over $5,000.

Refreshments are available on the three open days and further information can be found on our Facebook page, together with the link to the online entry form.

Entries can also be made from mobile devices by using the QR Code displayed on advertisements and flyers, and at various locations at some of our sponsors.

Closing date for entries is 22nd May 2023.
