Top teams make their mark

-

THE top teams in the Ellinbank District football under 16s stamped their authority in round three, with Lang Lang, Neerim South and Ellinbank scoring big wins to remain undefeated.

LANG LANG gradually built its lead over a gallant but young Nilma-Darnum side, winning 15-13 (103) to 0-2 (2).

Blake Lyon, Ashton Townley, Robi Nooy, Jack Stockx, Tai Liddiard and Jarrad Francome led the charge for the Tigers.

The Bombers were best served by James Demicoli, Kade Rossborough, Jacob Egan, Nate Young, Archie Cook and Robert Arms.

KAI Mounsey booted seven goals as Neerim-Neerim South kicked away after quarter time for a big win over Poowong, 13-24 (102) to 2-0 (12).

The Magpies were competitive early, with a Rory Nettle double reducing the margin to 15-points at the first change, before the Cats took control.

Max Williames, William Kew, James Welford, Kyson Cornwall and Blake Macdonald came to the fore for the home side.

Joining Nettle in the best for the Magpies were Bryce Broadmore, Gavin Monson, William Dixon and Jett Blackwood.

ELLINBANK overcame early inaccuracy to kick away from Trafalgar, winning 8-12 (60) to 2-5 (17).

The quarter time margin could have been greater, had it not been for a Bankers return of 1-6.

Tyler Christian, Blake Handley, Charlie Armour, Ayden Clarke, Luke Callewaert and Mitchell Warren led Ellinbank to victory.

Trafalgar were best served by Juddson Ryan, Liam Coulthard, Matthew Kersten, Louis Hennessy, Toby McCabe and Oliver McQualter.

LONGWARRY did enough to keep a spirited Buln Buln at bay, winning 9-9 (63) to 5-9 (39).

The Crows kicked out to a three goal buffer at the first change, and were able to manage the gap from there.

Hamish Colvin, Tyler van der Heyden, Ethan Seskis, Van Wilson and Ruben Fox helped the Crows to a fast start.

Helping keep Buln Buln in the contest were Cooper Crowe, Charlie Lindau, Bailey Nicholas, Charles Kilmartin and Archie Bridger.
